Despite promises from the receptionist that construction work doesn't start very early, I was woken up by an elderly Vietnamese man sitting outside my window sharpening his saw. RRRRHHRHR, RRRRHHRHR, RRRRHHRHR, RRRRHHRHR, so obnoxious! I went over to reception and made a bit of a scene telling a different receptionist that I wasn't happy being lied to about all the rooms being full nor by being woken up by RRRRHHRHR. I didn't come to the beach to hear city sounds, I want to hear the nice whoosh of the ocean. The new receptionist agreed to move us away from the construction and closer to the ocean. We had planned to rent motorbikes and spend the day exploring the island but instead we got some beach loungers in the shade and spent the whole day laying around reading and eating fresh pineapple.
Last night the weather was rainy so we decided to walk North from our hotel and check out things that way and watch the sunset. Unfortunately the sunset was a bit disappointing so we just went for a nice walk on the beach.
For dinner we found this tapas restaurant, very out of place in Vietnam but we decided to give it a try. I had a delicious mixed beef and pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Janelle got a chorizo salad from which I stole most of the chorizo.
The chorizo was absolutely amazing, it reminded me of free tapas with every order of beer in Southern Spain only better. Each piece of chorizo melted in my mouth while bursting with flavor. I kept saying to Janelle, "This is so amazzzzzzzzing!".
