Yvonne and I went and did all of the Munich tourist type things on Thursday. First we went to the English Garden, basically a large park in the city and had lunch, a delicious pork knuckle with potatoes. Then went to the BMW Museum and walked around looking at the free stuff in the lobby. They have a bunch of simulations demonstrating why their cars are superior, it definitely made me want to buy a BMW. After that we walked around Olympic park and came upon an automatic ice cream machine. Yvonne got an ice cream and I took pictures of her making funny poses. Then I was getting my ice cream and gave her the camera to take pictures. She didn’t take pictures though she made a video. Here is a video of what I look like when I think someone is taking pictures and not a video:
Chris and his friends had reserved a table at Oktoberfest and some of the people who were supposed to go with them didn’t show up and so Yvonne and I got to join them at their table. When we first got there the only spot for me was between two very large men who had no concept of beats in a song and were simply flailing their bodies around crushing me at the most unexpected of times. Luckily there was a lot of shifting and I didn’t have to stay wedged between them for long.
All of the guys at our table were wearing traditional German man attire and Yvonne had on her Dundel so I was the only one in normal clothes. Chris bought me a tee-shirt that has the print of a guys traditional German outfit on it. Check out the pictures, you can hardly tell that it’s only a tee-shirt, they did a nice job and now I’ll get to wear it every 6 days, when I go through all my shirts.
Since Yvonne already made a video earlier I wanted to make some and below are two videos of people singing at Oktoberfest:
When the tent closed we again went to the fairgrounds and I had a candy apple and some roasted candied almonds. Then we went on a ride that shoots you up and down in the air. I also made a video of this:
I have been saying that everyday is Saturday because I could go out last night, I didn’t work today and I can go out tonight. Unfortunately for Yvonne she has to start graduate school on Monday and her perpetual Saturday is coming to an end. After three incredible weeks with Yvonne, her family and friends it is time for me to move on. Friday I head to Berlin using Mitfahrgelegenheit again, should be fun.
